India to achieve Services Export target of $1 Trillion by 2030: Shri Piyush Goyal

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal spoke to the audience at the “Services Export Promotion Council-Global Services Conclave 2021. Minister stated that India is poised to achieve a services export target of $1 trillion by 2030.
He called the Services a key driver of India’s economic growth. Nearly 2.6 crore people are employed in the services industry, which accounts for roughly 40% of India’s total global exports.
He emphasized that powered by Skills, Startups, and IT Solutions, the Service sector is our competitive advantage and Indian services have the twin power of universal acceptance & universal attraction. India’s services exports are mostly made up of IT/ITes, and the government has emphasized the importance of focusing on other potential growth industries.
According to the Minister, India would be the world’s seventh-largest exporter of services by 2020. “Sectors like tourism, hospitality, etc. which suffered due to COVID-19 is showing revival signs,” he said.
