Customers of Tata Power can now use NPCI’s ClickPay service

Tata Power claims to be the first service to use the NPCI’s ClickPay service.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance launched a partnership with NPCI earlier this month to offer ClickPay to its clients, making it easier for them to pay their renewal premiums.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary NPCI Bharat BillPay has partnered with Tata Power to offer ClickPay to the latter’s customers.

Tata Power claims to be the first utility to use the NPCI’s ClickPay system. According to NPCI, it will make it easier for Tata Power consumers to pay their electrical bills.

“Tata Power (Mumbai) is the first electricity Biller to go live on NBBL ClickPay. NPCI has always been very thoughtful on the innovation front and comes up with new customer-friendly payment options. Looking forward to being a part of more such innovative projects from NPCI in the future,”

said Ramesh Subramanyam, Chief Finance Officer, Tata Power.

Tata Power will create a payment link and send it to its clients as part of ClickPay, people are able to make quick bill payments. Customers will be able to utilize the ClickPay service to pay utility bills, EMIs, and insurance premiums, among other things. The biller will generate the link, which when clicked will take the customer to the payment page.

Customers will be able to pay their bills without the burden of entering the bill amount, remembering bill payment dates, or going through rigorous steps to make a bill payment, according to NPCI.

“This payment option will bring more convenience to 7+ lakh consumers of Tata Power (Mumbai) to pay their bills digitally with just the click of a button. This can help Tata Power to bring its customers from the Offline realm to the Online platform. We are thankful to NPCI for providing the opportunity to be a frontrunner utility,”
