Covaxin exports by Bharat Biotech have resumed
Bharat Biotech said today that it has resumed Covaxin exports and completed long-awaited orders in November.
“Long pending export orders have been executed during November, to be further expanded during the following months. With the number of countries that have granted emergency use approvals for COVAXIN increasing, exports to additional countries will also commence from December.”Tweeted Bharat Biotech
According to a statement posted on Twitter, the corporation also stated that exports to new countries will begin in December.
It was unclear whether or whether these exports were done through COVAX, the global vaccine-sharing facility.
The World Health Organization (WHO) approved Covaxin for emergency use earlier this month, citing its 78 percent efficacy against severe COVID-19 infections.
Although it accounts for only approximately 11% of the nearly 1.23 billion doses provided so far, it is the only home-grown vaccine employed in India’s vaccination programme.
