Larsen & Toubro, to construct an underground Metro train network in Patna, gets the contract from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), on Tuesday, has announced that they have won a prestigious order from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), for the design and construction of the Underground Metro Project of Phase-1 of Patna MRTS. 

As part of the project, the company will design and construct the Twin Tunnel by Shield TBM of approximately 6 kilometers, tunnel by cut and cover. An underground Ramp at 6 stations namely Rajendra Nagar, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, University, PMCH, Gandhi Maidan, and Akashvani will also be constructed by Larsen & Toubro.

“L&T is proud to be associated with this first UG metro rail project of Phase-1 of Patna. Over the years, L&T has significantly enhanced its capability to build faster, and reliable mass transit systems and this project is in line with its strategic goals.”, the company said.

The company will also work on other associated structures including Architectural Finishing, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation and Drainage Works on the new ISBT to Patna Station of Corridor-2 of Phase-1 of Patna MRTS.

The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business of L&T construction will work on the Patna Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS). The project funded by Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) is expected to be completed in 42 months and will be operated by the corporation after completion.
