Department of Water Supply and Sanitation Of Punjab gives the contract to L&T Construction

Big contracts have been awarded to L&T Construction’s Water & Effluent Treatment Division. L&T Construction’s Water & Effluent Treatment Business has received a flurry of orders from a variety of notable clients.

On a DBOT (Design Build Operate Transfer) basis, the  Department of Water Supply and Sanitation of Punjab has granted two EPC orders for the Bulk Supply of Treated Water to 10 lakh people across 412 villages and 15 dhanies in the Fazilka and Ferozepur districts of Punjab.

Design and construction of raw water intake systems, storage & sedimentation tanks, water treatment plants with a total capacity of 114 MLD, clear water reservoirs with pumphouse, supply & laying of transmission pipelines, and associated Electromechanical & Instrumentation works make up the overall scope of work. The project also includes automation activities, such as measuring the quantity and quality of incoming and outflow water using appropriate SCADA and other sensors.

For the same client, the company had previously commissioned the Moga Water Supply Project. The Government of Odisha’s Department of Water Resources has issued a new EPC order for the Rengali Right Irrigation Project’s Under-Ground Pipeline Irrigation System (Phase-I).

Water from the Rengali Right Bank Canal and its distributaries will be used for irrigation in the Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts of Odisha, covering 24,063 hectares of cultivable command area (CCA) and 26,334 hectares of command area development (CAD). The scope of work includes surveying, designing, procuring, constructing, and installing DI, HDPE, and PSC pipes and pipeline distribution networks, as well as all related work.

In addition, the company has received add-on orders from the Uttar Pradesh State Water & Sanitation Mission to build several rural water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission to deliver Functional House Tap Connection (FHTC) throughout the state.
