On November 26, 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly passed the Constitution, which went into effect on January 26, 1950, with a democratic governance framework, completing the country’s journey to independence. The date of 26 January was chosen as Republic Day since it was on this day in 1930 that the Indian National Congress proclaimed the Declaration of Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) in place of the Realm status as a Dominion afterwards instated by the departing British Regime.
We are celebrating 73rd Republic day this year. Here is how Indian companies wished people on Christmas.
