Adani Total Enters into electric mobility infrastructure

Adani Total Gas Ltd (“ATGL”), India’s largest city gas distribution provider, has entered the electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) market with the opening of its first EVCS in Ahmedabad. With best-in-class fast charging technology and an easy-to-use digital platform, the EVCS, which is located at ATGL’s CNG station in Maninagar, Ahmedabad, would enable speedy turnaround time for EV owners.

 “The Commencement of EV business with setting up the first charging station in Ahmedabad is yet another milestone for Adani Total Gas to provide choice of newer green fuel to the larger consumer base in India while timely ceasing an emerging business opportunity aligned to our vision to offer sustainable fuelling solutions on across all major cities and towns in India.”

said Mr Suresh P Manglani, CEO of Adani Total Gas.

The company plans to grow its network by installing 1500 EVCS around the country, with an expansion strategy in place to go beyond 1500 EVCS based on demand generation and the EV ecosystem’s momentum.

As a CNG retailer, ATGL has a large footprint across the country. Because it owns retail space, has extensive experience serving domain consumers, and has a large customer base across India, it is well-positioned to play an active role in the Electric Mobility sector. The company is well-positioned to enter the electric mobility sector and gain a large portion of the rapidly expanding EV market.

ATGL also benefits from the Adani Group’s intrinsic potential to create renewable energy and may take advantage of group-level synergies for green power procurement. TotalEnergies SE’s global experience in the EV infrastructure field is another factor that gives ATGL a competitive advantage as it pursues market leadership in the space.
