Vaisakhi, often spelled Baisakhi, is a Sikh holiday observed on the 13th and 14th of April each year as a celebration of the spring crop, particularly in Punjab. Other Indian cultures and diaspora are said to participate in this occasion as well. While it is celebrated as a harvest festival, some people believe Vaisakhi is the correct date for the Indian Solar New Year.
