Tata Chemicals’ CSR arm, Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD), runs a number of initiatives aimed at creating jobs for rural youth, allowing them to become financially independent and contributing to the region’s general economic progress. TCSRD held its fourth annual Job Fair in support of this aim.

The fair attracted over 1600 candidates from 256 villages, who were offered jobs by ten prestigious companies including Banco Product (India) Ltd., Nanliu Manufacturing (India) Private Limited, Yazaki India Pvt. Ltd., Lumax Industries Ltd., Voltas Becko Ltd., Banco Gaskets India Ltd., and others, making it a huge success.

Candidates from three primary educational backgrounds, ITI pass-outs, Graduates, and HSC pass-outs, took part in this recruiting drive and were chosen for floor-shop jobs after an interview process. Candidate registration was made as simple as possible, with candidates enrolling via a website or an Android application.

“Our goal is to bring opportunities to meet the rising aspirations of today’s youth. We are grateful to the community, district authorities, and companies for their support towards this initiative. The successful participation of youth every year in the fair is bringing us close to our vision of providing employment to 4000 youth of Devbhoomi Dwarka by 2025” said Mr. N Kamath Vice President Manufacturing & Factory Manager, Tata Chemicals

TCSRD was instrumental in negotiating with recruiters for benefits such as free transport service, housing, and subsidized canteen meals. All of the candidates, as well as the companies who participated in the event, were linked to a government portal for future up-gradation reference, making the procedure smooth. The effort covered Devbhumi Dwarka district’s four blocks and 250 villages, as well as Porbandar district’s six villages.

TCSRD also offers skill development and entrepreneurial training, ensuring that participants have the necessary skills to succeed in today’s competitive employment market. This is accomplished through a Skill Development Center that is also actively striving to provide jobs to rural kids in the Devbhumi Dwarka district. TCSRD collaborates with educational institutions and technical organisations to apply their knowledge and learning to their community development projects, allowing them to have a greater impact.
